Back in 1982, when few people in the United States had ever seen a sea kayak, Coastal Kayaking Tours became the first outfitter on the East Coast to offer guided sea kayaking tours. We started as a one-man operation in Bar Harbor, Maine, gateway to Acadia National Park, with guests meeting us at the appointed "put-in" site to begin the tours.
From that meager beginning, we've grown to become New England's premier outfitter, running a wider variety of guided sea kayaking tours than any other outfitter on the East Coast. We've done it all while adhering to our philosophy that to provide the best Maine sea kayaking possible, personalized attention is the best policy, and that the more intensive we make our guide training program, the better our trips will be. It's worked!
